Subject Matter Welcomes Bryce Harlow to the Government Relations Team
Washington, DC (June 12, 2020) – Subject Matter today announced that Capitol Hill veteran and skilled lobbyist Bryce Harlow will join the firm’s government relations team beginning July 13. Harlow comes to creative advocacy firm Subject Matter from CBS Corporation where for thirteen years he led federal legislative and political initiatives for the Fortune 500 media company on issues of video policy, copyright, tax, privacy and Internet-related regulations. Previously, he was director of government relations at the National Association of Broadcasters where he served as the chief liaison between the radio/TV broadcaster’s advocacy organization and Congress and the Administration.
“In this unprecedented time of historical events and an uncertain legislative landscape, having seasoned professionals is critical to delivering client wins. We are thrilled to welcome Bryce Harlow to our bipartisan Government Relations team,” said Subject Matter partner Steve Elmendorf.
Earlier in his career, Harlow was a congressional liaison specialist for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). While at the FTC, he was instrumental in establishing the National Do-Not-Call Registry. He also served as the head liaison between the agency and federal officials on antitrust, consumer protection and trade. Harlow began his career as a Legislative Aide for the Senate Judiciary Committee and as a Staff Assistant for the House Republican Cloakroom. Harlow has also worked at the last five GOP Conventions, serving in a leadership role in Official Proceedings within the Committee on Arrangements. In that role he has been involved with the execution of the Conventions’ program and its official business.
“Bryce has been shaping the formation and execution of legislative policy for decades, designing strategy and advocating on a range of key issues. His experience will enhance our growing team’s ability to advocate on our clients’ behalf,” said Elmendorf.
